The Air Force 1 Low has probably seen more colorways from Nike than any other sneaker in recent memory. The paneling on this design allows for a range of customizability and no other sneaker comes close to the level of experimentation that is done on the Air Force 1. Apart from sneaker customizers, Nike itself has also dropped a number of “Experimental” silhouettes on the AF1 that are bizarre, yet very popular. As such, sneaker concept artists also follow the trend and experiment with a plethora of colors. Some work out better than others, and with this Air Force 1 Low Cupid Pink, we’re on the fence!
The Air Force 1 Low was a huge milestone for Nike. Not only are they one of the Swoosh’s most revenue-generating sneakers ever, but the Air Force 1 also allowed Nike to enter and dominate the basketball sneaker market which was growing at an exponential rate and providing opportunities for manufacturers to level up their companies significantly. In some ways, you could say that the Air Force 1 lead to the establishment of Jordan Brand which is one of Nike’s most successful subsidiaries. There are still multiple new colorways and concepts that are released for this silhouette today, such as this Air Force 1 Low Pink Cupid.
Seemingly inspired by a few Valentine’s Day special edition sneakers, the Air Force 1s come in a dual pink shade with white and black hits. Uppers feature a pastel pink leather around the toes while an ‘Atomic Pink’, previously seen on the Air Force 1 Low Experimental, appears on the side panels and the eye stays. Toe boxes don a crisp white leather with perforations while the throats also rock the same atomic pink hue that is wrapped up in pastel pink traditional laces.
The bottom laces don a black lace ornament with “AF1” text discreetly marked on them. Moving up, we find a pair of Atomic Pink tongues with grey tags and black “Nike Air” texts that complement the lace ornaments and the side leather Swooshes. White sock liners and interiors provide further contrast while heel tabs also feature an Atomic Pink hue, matching the rest of the color scheme. More atomic pink on the midsoles with “Air” branding and rugged white outsoles finish off the design.
