With Jordan Brand’s re-release of the coveted ‘Lightning’ colorway, clout and excitement have been amplified since it was first released in 2006 leading to a few new concept designs that might have just been inspired by that revered version of the Air Jordan 4. If we’re looking too much into it or completely spot on, there’s no denying that this all-new Air Force 1 Low feature hues are identical to the aforementioned model. This concept features bright yellow hues contrasted by jet-black overlays and interiors. A fitting iteration of such an iconic colorway!
There are so many stories about the origins of the Air Force 1 and its early days that really prove how special this silhouette is. Even the OG basketball shoes the ‘Nike Blazer’ can’t hold a candle to this sneaker’s durability which the Air Force 1 was known for during its early days. Usually, there were fears of a blowout with most basketball sneakers, especially if worn for streetball, but not with the Air Force 1. The uppers were carefully constructed with high-quality materials giving it durability like no other basketball sneaker at the time. Its cup sole was also quite durable and added to the “indestructible” aura.
All these features contributed to this silhouette’s ever-green popularity which is why it’s also so frequently adopted by artists. Their latest creation, the Air Force 1 Low Lightning features a yellow electrifying hue all over the upper, appearing on the toes, the side panels, the heel overlays, and the perforated toe boxes. Matching leather eye stays are contrasted by jet-black laces that envelop the throats with only hints of ‘Lightning’ hues that permeate through. At the bottom of the laces, you can just barely make out the lace deubré that features a black color tone and likely also “AF1” branding.
Black tongues are contrasted by matching yellow eyelet panels with customary AF1 branding. Complementing the laces and throats are black sock liners and interiors as well and although we don’t have a clear angle of the rear, the image appears to show titular yellow heel tabs with perhaps jet-black branding. Sides wear matching black Swooshes while completely blacked-out midsoles with embossed “Air” logos that are barely visible and black outsoles complete the look. There aren’t a lot of similar sneakers out there but the Air Force 1 Low Peace, Love & Basketball may just scratch that itch for you if you’re looking for a similar pair.
