Following the myriad of Air Force 1 Low concept art in recent weeks, we receive yet another subdued Air Force 1 Low that’s reminiscent of a few other recent concepts as well. It appears that teal and midnight navy is starting to be popular choices for concept artists as we’ve seen this combination before on the recent Air Jordan 1 Mid and the Air Max 90. This time, we present the Air Force 1 Low Midnight Arctic that features a familiar dark navy background against contrasting teal hits.
The Air Force 1 is no longer just a basketball shoe, it’s a fan favorite that is adored by common people and celebrities alike. They’re frequently worn on the courts as well as on the streets but we would argue that today, they’re more popular as fashion staples. In 2013, it was rumored that big-time rapper and producer Dr. Dre wears the Air Force 1s like normal people wear socks. The rumor goes that he buys boxes of them every month and every time he’s worn a pair, they’re disposed of. Obviously normal people aren’t able to do that but it shows how adored this silhouette is and how embedded it is in modern pop culture as well. No wonder we’re seeing an endless amount of new AF1 concepts such as this Air Force 1 Low Midnight Arctic.
While I can’t think of anything else on the market that’s similar to these sneakers, they are reminiscent of the recent Air Force 1 Low Dark Tropical twist concept which featured almost an identical color scheme but swapped out the navy for black uppers. The Midnight Arctic starts off with smooth navy leather mudguards, side panels, and heel overlays. The same hue also appears on the perforated toe boxes as well as the eye stays and on the laces that wrap up the shoe’s matching throats. Leading up, matching Midnight Navy tongues are contrasted by cool Arctic Blue tongue tags with black “Nike” and “Air Force 1” texts.
Collar linings and interiors both indulge in titular midnight arctic hues and although we don’t have an angle, the inserts may also don Arctic Blue hues with additional branding. Side Swooshes feature contrasting teal leather that complements the tongues while dark navy midsoles and matching AF1 outsoles finish off the design. For concept art and more, stay tuned!
