We are almost at the end of 2022 and the Air Jordan 4 is still the top dog when it comes to sneakers, particularly Air Jordans. Almost all releases sell out instantly even today and resell for hefty profit margins on websites such as GOAT and Flight Club. That does have something to do with these sneakers being so customizable as well as having significant historic value. They emulated the Air Jordan 3 which many believed would be impossible and continue to be popular today inspiring an unprecedented amount of concept art such as this. Jordan Brand started a trend of releasing hyped retro and OG colorways in 2020 which continued on to 2021. Although that has subsided to an extent in 2022, these sneakers are still at an all-time high when it comes to hype and value on the secondary market. Their concept art is also second to none, even arguably more popular than the revered Air Jordan 1 which is perhaps one of the most well-known sneakers of all time alongside the Air Force 1 and Air Max 90. Seemingly inspired by a Blood Moon which is when the Moon appears to give off a red tinge as it moves into the Earth’s shadow causing a lunar eclipse which can only happen on a night of a full moon. Coming to the design, these feature a mesh and leather build with grey toes, toe boxes, and mudguards that extend towards the heel. Throats are a dark mesh with a matching grey hue and wrapped up in traditional black laces that are attached to 4 metallic grey eyelet panels.
Large grey tumbled leather tongues are contrasted by red tags and white Jump-Man logos while bordered by grey tongue outlines. Sock liners are a contrasting blood red and lead down to red interiors and likely red inserts with white branding. Rears seem to feature grey heel pieces while additional contrast is provided by the leather side triangular pieces. Complementing the throats are mesh collars on the side panels while red outsoles with white hits and clean white outsoles with black hits finish off the design.
