A Mix of Two Icons? The Air Jordan 4 Gym Red Oreo

The best part about having concept art is that you can pretty much do anything with it and even if it is a flaming hot mess, there is no harm done. Experimentation is great and the Air Jordan 4 is one of the best silhouettes for trying due to its vast potential for customizability. This time, it appears that concept artists have fused together two iconic colorways, the Air Jordan 4 Gym Red and the Air Jordan 4 Oreo, giving us something entirely new in the process. Presenting, the Air Jordan 4 Gym Red Oreo.

The Air Jordan 4 is perhaps the most well-liked Air Jordan model presently available. This claim is based on a comparison of the quantity of Air Jordan colors that have recently been released, the time it takes for each colorway to sell out, and—most importantly—the average colorway’s worth on the secondary market. Everything is quite fantastic! Particularly when a colorway of the Air Jordan 4 UNC sells for more than double what it costs to buy in stores. Due to its popularity, while it has in the past as well, the shoe is one of the most popular options for concept artists in 2022. As a result, we get wonderful works like this Air Jordan 4 Gym Red Oreo.

Coming to the design of this shoe, it appears to sport the Gym Red hues which is one of the OG colorways for the Air Jordan 4 by Jordan Brand as well as the Oreo colorway which is also an iconic iteration that was released a bit later on. Light grey leather covers the mudguards and the toe boxes that extend towards the side panels and carry over onto the rears. The throats feature netted mesh paneling in a Gym Red hue and a black background that is wrapped up in traditional black laces and attached to 4 metallic grey eyelet panels. The laces also go through regular light grey leather eye stays.

Grey tongues that appear to be constructed with tumbled leather are contrasted by red tongue liners and black tags that are detailed by Gym Red Jump-Man branding. Red sock liners likely lead down to black inserts with additional red Jump-Man branding. Moreover, the rears seem to feature black heel pieces that either don grey or red embossed branding. Red netted side panels and black leather triangular heel pieces, black midsoles with red pieces and red outsoles finish off the design. For more concept art, stay tuned!
