The Air Jordan 4’s reinvigorated popularity has been carried forward to 2022 and now, they’re as popular as ever! In 2021 and 2020, Jordan Brand released a number of hyped retro sneakers such as the Jordan 4 University Blue and Jordan 4 Lightning (among others) that shot up sales numbers on the primary and the secondary market alike. Because of this, concept artists are also doing more work on this silhouette and treating us with potential classics such as this fusion between the Jordan 4 Infrared and Wolf Grey colorways. Presenting, the Air Jordan 4 Infrared Wolf!
Tinker Hatfield had the lofty task of outdoing himself when designing the Air Jordan 4. Being the successor of the popular Air Jordan 3 that many claims is Michael Jordan’s personal favorite, this was no easy task. Thankfully, the architect-turned-sneaker designer delivered, and the Air Jordan 4 today is possibly the most popular Air Jordan on the market right now.
Interestingly, Tinker Hatfield released 4 colorways but he made a total of 6, two of which are unreleased and include a black/red colorway. This Air Jordan 4 Infrared Wolf could be a sneak peek into what that colorway may have looked like.
Coming to the design, this Jordan 4 features a black, grey, and Infrared color scheme. What appears to be tumbled leather in a grey hue covers the toe boxes, scuff guards, and mudguards that extend all the way to the rear of the shoes. Side panels feature a netted black material with a grey background and are overlain by a leather triangular piece attached to the top metallic grey eyelet panels. Throats feature a matching netted paneling, enveloped by black laces that lead up to a pair of black leather tongues. These tongues carry grey tags with contrasting Infrared Jump-Man branding.
Black sock liners and interiors are also visible that likely lead down to matching black insert and possible additional Infrared branding. The heel piece that’s supposed to feature an embossed Jump-Man also appears to don a black shade, complementing the rest of the shoe’s design. Titular infrared midsoles with black pieces and exposed Air Units along with Wolf Grey outsoles finish off the design. If interested in copping a similar pair, you can check out the Air Jordan 4 Infrared (2022) which dons very similar hues, however, it will cost you over $500! For similar content and more, stay tuned!
