Concept artists are taking a bite out of the ever-popular luxury fashion house scene by implementing popular brands into their art and if history tells us anything, it’s that luxury fashion houses and sneaker manufacturers make a great team. We’ve seen how popular and lucrative (for resellers) some of these past collaborations have been and also how popular some of these concept artists have been. This time, artists come up with what appears to be a Louis Vuitton collaboration with Jordan Brand in a semi-familiar colorway! Presenting, the Louis Vuitton x Air Jordan 4 Lightning that’s dressed in the luxury brand’s insignia with yellow “Lightning” overlays!
High-end fashion brands such as Dior and Prada have collaborated on sneakers before and they turned out to be very popular, albeit expensive. In 2020, Jordan Brand collaborated with Dior on the Air Jordan 1 High and Low which turned out to be one of the most valuable sneakers ever made. For the price of a Dior x Air Jordan 1 High, you can actually buy a car! Other collaborations include the recent Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 which is also very valuable and carries a hefty price tag with it. Likely inspired by those, we now receive the art of LV and the Air Jordan 4!
This concept, if ever comes to life, will be extremely popular as the Air Jordan 4 in 2022 is perhaps the most popular Air Jordan right now. Uppers of this sneaker features a leather build with black leather on the toes that is embellished by LV’s signature patterns and their LV logo in multiple colorways. The toe boxes are constructed with white tumbled leather which extends to the side panels and over to the rears. Mesh netting in the titular “Lightning” hue can be seen on the throats against black backgrounds and wrapped by traditional white laces.
Moving up, we see large white leather tongues with black tags and contrasting titular Jump-Man branding with yellow sock liners. White sock liners likely lead down to white interiors and matching inserts with black or yellow branding, complementing the yellow heel pieces on the rears. The collars are also one of the main highlights of this shoe, featuring a similar design with patterns identical to the toes. Yellow netted side panels provide further contrast while white midsoles and Lightning outsoles finish off the design. If interested in more concept art, stay tuned!
