Hot or Not?-The Air Max 90 Arctic Grey

It appears that the Air Max 90’s ability to wear multiple color combinations knows no bounds and, in most cases, works out relatively well when done by concept artists. This is even more surprising because of the fact that Nike releases close to 10 entirely new colorways each month. Thankfully, the creativity of concept artists knows no bounds either as we continue to receive new concepts such as this all-new Air Max. Presenting, the Air Max 90 Arctic Grey, a lighter version of the AM90 Wolf Grey that we covered recently.

We have been receiving a lot of Air Max 90 concepts which is a testament to this silhouette’s undying popularity. Previously, we covered an Air Max 90 which featured an almost identical color scheme to the Arctic Grey concept. It wore dark grey overlays, compared to the “Particle Grey” hue on the Arctic Grey concept but that’s pretty much where the differences end. Similarly, we also saw the Air Max 90 Grey Voltage that donned similar hues but swapped out the teal hits on the Swooshes, midsoles, and branding for a “Voltage” yellow color tone. It appears that grey underlays are trending after the matte black’s hype wore off because of multiple iterations.

Now, we receive a similar AM90 colorway that’s reminiscent of various past releases. As the moniker suggests, the colorway features lighter ‘Particle Grey” hits that almost cover the entirety of the sneakers. Light grey leather covers the toes and the mudguards, extending towards the heel in smooth leather material. Toe boxes feature a customary mesh material, this time done up in titular grey hues that also appear similarly on the mesh collars of the sneakers. The leather eye stays get tucked under the usual plastic eye stay panels with contrasting black laces that envelop the grey throats. Moving up the design, you’ll find a pair of Particle Grey tongues with bright Teal tongue tags and black “Nike Air” text along with it.

Complementing the tongues are matching sock liners and interiors that also indulge in the vibrancy of the teal color. Grey side panels are further contrasted by cropped teal leather Swooshes with an “Air Max” embossed badge situated right below. Bright teal midsoles with exposed Air Max bags and rugged teal outsoles complete the design. The closest this concept comes to an actual colorway is perhaps the Air Max 90 Particle Grey that dons a very similar color scheme. There’s plenty more where that came from, so stay tuned!
