The Air Max 90 is a silhouette that most will never get bored of and there’s plenty of evidence to back that up. The sneakers have been around for more than 3 decades and each year, Nike continues to deluge the market with a plethora of Air Max 90 colorways that are either retros or completely new. Either way, the love for this silhouette is unreal which is likely why we see much concept art on them. This time, artists release a clean white colorway with classic Cardinal Red hits. Presenting, the Air Max 90 Arctic Wolf!
Before sneaker culture took hold and prices for footwear started to rocket past their initial retail rates, the Air Max 90 was the go-to shoe. Despite being intended to be running shoes, these sneakers became a staple in the wardrobes of the majority of Americans. Actually, since the 1990s, the Air Max 90 has been made in every size, including toddler, grade school, men’s, and women’s. Nike even made these timeless styles accessible in men’s sizes up to 18 to ensure that nobody ever missed out! These shoes continue to be popular, as seen by the fact that celebrities like Jay-Z, Kendell Jenner, and many more are spotted wearing them today. As a result, concept art like this Air Max 90 Arctic Wolf has become more popular.
Though not confirmed and perhaps not likely, this silhouette seems to be inspired by an arctic wolf that wears a white/grey coat with blood-red eyes that are seeing glimmering even from a distance. The toes feature clean white leather while the mudguards are constructed with Wolf Grey that extends towards the heel, only disturbed by matching cutouts with red embossed Air Max branding. The toes, on the other hand, are white mesh which is a lightweight and more breathable material.
Moving up, lower grey leather eye stays are tucked underneath plastic eye stays while the plain white throats are wrapped up by crisp white traditional laces. Moving up, you’ll find a pair of matching white tongues with white tags and Cardinal Red “Air Max” and Swoosh branding. Sock liners are also Cardinal Red and with the sneak peek into the interiors, we can assume they also carry the same hue onto the inserts as well with additional branding. Grey heel pieces cover the rears with more branding while white midsoles and grey outsoles finish off the design. For more content such as this, stay tuned!
