A New Women’s Exclusive? -The Air Max 90 Baby Pink

We’re back with yet another Air Max 90 concept which is likely fitting of a women’s or GS exclusive! In recent years, Nike has upped their frequency of releasing gender-exclusive sneakers and although not everyone is all for it, some exclusives have been straight-up fire leaving little else to be desired. Concept artists also frequently choose feminine color tones that would likely make for a great women’s exclusive colorway and few can surpass this latest concept. Presenting, the Nike Air Max 90 Baby Pink.

Nike has only had a few flagship sneakers in the ‘80s and ‘90s and the Air Max 90 became their second-ever flagship following the Air Max 1 in the Air Max lineup. This sneaker gradually became the perfect pair of kicks for everyone, not just for the runners. After the 2000s, they became fashion icons and staples for everyone that was into streetwear. The infrareds became particularly profitable for Nike and they decided to continue the line by switching up colorways and materials on the upper. This eventually led to an explosion of new colorways and even to this day, Nike releases close to 10 new colorways every month.

These colorways also inspired various concept artists to make new designs such as this Air Max 90 Baby Pink. The uppers of this colorway feature a vibrant Baby Pink hue which predominantly covers the upper and the soles. Baby Pink leather appears on the toes and the mudguards that wrap the sneakers from the heels to its toes. These mudguards are only contrasted by titular pink “Air Max” branding with white plastic backgrounds. Toe boxes don mesh Baby Pink hues that complement the matching collars of the sneakers. Above the toe boxes is pink leather eye stay panels that are tucked under the usual plastic eyelet panels and contrasted by crisp white laces.

These laces cover the similarly hued throats of the sneakers and lead up to a pair of pink tongues with white tags and pink “Nike Air” branding. Sock liners and interiors also indulge in a clean white shade and although we only have a peek of the heel tabs, it shows matching pink overlays that blend in with the rest of the sneakers. Pink midsoles with contrasting white blocks surrounding the Air Units and rugged pink-white outsoles complete the design. Interested in a similar pair?
