Air Max 90 concepts are currently all the rage and sometimes, a few concepts take the cake when it comes to being the most aesthetically pleasing even when compared to actual Nike colorways. Recently, we’ve seen the Air Max 90 Midnight Arctic and the Neon Ink, both of which have been quite popular but now, another fire concept has been added to the roster. Presenting, the Nike Air Max 90 Dark Crimson. A regal new concept with dark crimson hits contrasted by crisp white hues throughout the sneaker.
Are you even a real sneakerhead if you’re not familiar with the classic 90s? This silhouette has been a constant among Nike’s sneaker roster and has been consistently re-released in a plethora of colorways and material choices, giving fans a wide range of options to choose from. This has encouraged a number of people to give the AM90 a try and add it to their wardrobes thus elevating the silhouette into almost a fashion staple that never really goes out of style. In European countries, in particular, the Air Max 90 has been firmly embedded into sneaker culture and is worn everywhere. Even larger-than-life NBA players such as LeBron James have been spotted rocking a pair on the streets.
With so many colorways already out, there’s an endless inspiration for concept art that yields decent results such as this Air Max 90 Dark Crimson. As the moniker suggests, this concept wears a regal crimson upper that is featured onto the leather mudguards and extends all the way across to the heels. Toe boxes don the same hues but opt for a different mesh-like texture instead that sits below matching plastic eyelet panels that only diverge from the rest with its material and texture. Throats appear to wear a crisp white shade with matching clean laces that provide a stark contrast to the otherwise dark sneakers. On the tongues, matching crimson tongue tags are contrasted by white “Nike” and “Air” branding.
These sneakers are more subdued versions of the Air Max 90 Hyper Crimson that dropped back in May of 2019. The main difference is the shade of crimson that’s used, the Hyper Crimson features lighter crimson hues that also appear on the eyelet panels and the lateral “Air Max” badges while sporting matching crimson Swooshes. The Dark Crimson concept dons contrasting white Swooshes and matching crimson “Air Max” tags. Clean white midsoles and outsoles finish off the design. For more concept art such as this, stay tuned!
