A New Halloween Special? -Air Max 90 “Dark Pumpkin”

As one of the most popular sneakers on the planet, fans are accustomed to seeing a wide range of new real-life colorways as well as concept art that makes you wish they were real. This time, artists have outdone themselves yet again with an Air Max 90 that’s fitting for the forthcoming spooky celebration of Halloween. Presenting, the Nike Air Max 90 Dark Pumpkin, a dark backgrounded sneaker with vibrant Total Orange hits.

With so many Air Max 90s are already out, it’s difficult to imagine how designers at Nike missed using these color combinations in the same way. Although this month alone, the Swoosh did not release their usual quota of the 90s, the few that they have released such as the Multi-Colored Sail and Fossil Stone haven’t really made any headlines. On the other hand, this silhouette remains one of Nike’s top-sellers and frequently fly off shelves just because of its star power alone. This status has encouraged artists and customer sneaker designers to adopt the silhouette as a canvas for various projects. This time, we take a closer look at yet another masterpiece in the Nike Air Max 90 Dark Pumpkin.

The upper seemingly features the usual build that fans know and love. Predominantly leather construction is shrouded in a fine black shade, appearing on the scuff guards, mudguards, and side panels. Toe boxes, on the other hand, are constructed with black mesh or canvas materials with a noticeably different texture. Diagonally lined eyelet panels sit on top of leather eye stays that are contrasted by vibrant Total Orange laces, or “Pumpkin”, in this case. Black throats lead up to a pair of black tongues with orange tongue tags and white “Nike” branding, a suitable complement to the rest of the upper.

Collar linings as well as the interiors opt for a crisp white shade that does well to differentiate themselves in a way that’s pleasing to the eyes. Side panels include cropped Total orange leather Swooshes with a small orange “Air Max” badge embossed onto the mudguards against a white background. Underfoot, Total orange midsoles with exposed Air Max units and rugged orange outsoles finish off the design. If you need a real-life colorway similar to this, check out the Air Max 90 Black Orange. While it may not be as bold and alluring, the Black Orange can still be a great addition to your fall wardrobe. For more concept art, stay tuned!
