Another Fusion of Two Icons- The Air Max 90 Elephant Print Bred

The best thing about concept art is that we can blend a wide variety of colorways and come up with a seemingly unlimited amount of new concepts that are either horribly wrong, pleasant, or even legendary in some cases. The point is, with concept art there is always something for everyone and this time, we have yet another potential hit on our hands. If Nike combined more iconic colorways for their OG sneakers together, we would have an array of hyped sneakers on the secondary market right now that resell for a lot over their retail price. Presenting now, the Air Max 90 Elephant Print Bred!

The Bred colorway is one of the most popular on the market as most know. It started with Michael Jordan’s sneakers that carried the Black and Red hue to represent the Chicago Bulls. Over time, this colorway also appeared on Nike sneakers. The Elephant Print, on the other hand, is most well-known to dress the iconic Air Jordan 3. Widely considered as one of Michael Jordan’s favorite ever sneakers, the Air Jordan 3 had this unique touch that no other sneaker before it had. These kicks even made the Jump-Man himself smile as soon as he saw it. Now, it appears concept artists have merged together the Elephant Print with the Bred colorway on the Air Max 90.

The design is pretty wild here. Black leather covers the toes with white specks that mimic paint splatter. The opposite happens on the mudguards as they seem to be built with white leather with black paint splatter. Near the rear quarters are red cutouts with elephant print in black detailing and black embossed “Air Max” tags as well. The toe boxes are white mesh, complementing the similarly constructed collars of the shoe. Meanwhile, the lower eye stays, are white leather that gets tucked underneath what’s part of the highlight of these shoes, the red elephant print graphics on the plastic eyelet panels.

Clean white throats are wrapped up in crisp white laces that blend right in. White tongues are contrasted by black tags and white Nike Air branding while black sock liners and interiors add some more contrast. If we use our imagination, red elephant print inserts with black Nike branding would look quite nice. Rears feature cropped white side Swooshes while specked white midsoles with red elephant Air Blocks and matching outsoles finish off the design. For more concept art, stay tuned!
