Better Than The Palest Purple? The Air Max 90 Light Bordeaux

Few silhouettes, apart from the Air Force 1 Low, have seen more colorways than the Air Max 90. Whether they’re in full-family sizing, kids’ exclusives, or women’s exclusives, fans have pretty much seen it all at this point. Or have they? Thankfully, artists continue to surprise us with all-new colorways that we wish were real. Although we’re still hopeful that Nike might be taking notes, it’s unlikely that we’ll see something like this any time soon. Presenting, the Air Max 90 Light Bordeaux. A clean colorway that mixes light purple hues with crisp white overlays.

The Air Max 90 has a unique role in current sneaker culture because, unlike many other famous shoes like the Yeezys, the paneling allows for a great deal of customization. Nike created it that way by design, allowing them to create a myriad of colors while maintaining the silhouette’s appeal. Restocks and iterations, such as the re-release of the AM90 Infrared in 2021, help to keep the enthusiasm alive, but this year has been different. Due to a shortage of fresh intriguing hues, popularity has declined, but artists may perhaps change that with designs like this Air Max 90 Light Bordeaux.

Coming straight to the design, these Air Maxes feature clean paneling like any other pair. A crisp white leather covers the toes that are tucked underneath the mudguards. Mudguards run all the way from the sides, over the rear quarters, and onto the rears. These are disturbed by clean white cutouts with titular “Air Max” tags in an embossed fashion. Once again, mesh covers the toes of these kicks and sits right underneath leather Bordeaux lower eye stays. Clean white throats are wrapped up in crisp white laces that are intertwined in Light Bordeaux plastic eyelet panels.

Moving further up, you’ll find a pair of Light Bordeaux tongues with white tags that are detailed by the titular “Air Max” branding. Sock liners and interiors are also matching and we assume that they lead down to clean white inserts with more light Bordeaux branding. Heel tabs also seemingly indulge in the same hue. Cropped titular leather Swooshes cover the sides while the midsoles feature a matching purple shade with white blocking around the exposed Air Units. Finally, rugged purple outsoles finish off the design. If interested in a similar pair, check out the Air Max 90 Court Purple on the secondary market. For similar content and more, stay tuned!
