The Air Max 90 returns again and the concept artists this time have seemingly taken one of the most fire Air Max 90 models out there potentially for inspiration. There are more Air Max 90 colorways than you can imagine but few stand out more so than a combination of black and red such as on this brand-new AM90 concept art. Presenting, the Air Max 90 Midnight Red that features a combination of black underlays and Team Red overlays.
The Air Max 90 continues to be a best-seller along with other iconic shoes such as the Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan 1. What all these shoes have in common is that they always are very popular to base concept art on. The Air Max 1 and Air force 1, in particular, are extremely popular for this particular reason. The paneling on these shoes provides for a slew of ideas due to the sheer amount of customizability that they offer. Although some are based on very popular old colorways that artists believe still have room for improvement. This time, they have seemingly taken inspiration from the Air Max 90 Team Red Black Grey.
Coming to the design of these Air Max 90s, it appears that a blood-red hue covers the majority of the leather upper. This color is dubbed “Team Red” by Nike and graces the uppers of many other popular sneakers such as the Air Jordans and the Nike Dunks. Red toes gradually get tucked under matching leather mudguards that extend all the way to the rears. These mudguards are disturbed by red cutouts with embossed black “Air Max” tags. Toe boxes, on the other hand, feature textured black mesh that complements the similarly constructed collars. Moving up, you’ll find Team Red throats with matching laces and black plastic eyelet panels on each side.
Situated above are red tongues with black tags and red “Nike” branding. The uppers are further contrasted by black sock liners and interiors that likely lead down to more red or black inserts with additional branding. We can also just make out black heel tabs that further complement the black cropped leather Swooshes on the sides. Bright red midsoles with exposed Air Units and matching rugged red outsoles finish off the design.
