Another One For The Ladies? The Air Max 90 Purple Foam

Nike’s second flagship running sneaker is perhaps even more popular than the first Air Max released in 1987. Released in 1990, the Air Max 90 had to be special to live up to the hype after being the predecessor of such a revered sneaker. Tinker Hatfield hit a home run with the design and performance and as a result, the Air Max 90 is just as hot today as it was years ago. Today, we present to you the all-new Nike Air Max 90 Purple Foam that features a combination of women’s and kids’ color tones.

We got a slew of concept art over the last two months, the most of which had strongly contrasted color blocking with numerous black hits split by brilliant colors. Although this works well under most circumstances, it may have become a little monotonous for some. We saw the Air Max 90 Crystal Rock, which was dressed in brilliant Teal and Black, and the appealing Air Max 90 Honey Bee design before that, both of which have the potential to become classics. This design takes a unique approach by combining a bright royal purple with a more modest pink overlay.

Coming to the design of these sneakers, you’d think Nike has already come out with a similar colorway but they haven’t. This is thus an entirely original design with a few parts that are slightly reminiscent of past releases. The sneakers feature a light salmon leather overlay that gives off a pink tinge, appearing on the toes and the mudguards that extend all the way to the rears of the shoe. These mudguards feature purple cut-outs in a purple hue and an embossed “Air Max” tag.

Mesh appears on the toe boxes and the collars in a rich purple hue with a visibly rough texture. The lower eye stays are leather while the sides feature plastic eyelet panels in a matching hue, blending in with the laces and the throats. You’ll find a pair of purple tongues with salmon “Nike Air” branding moving up. A Similar branding likely appears on the heel pieces of the shoe. Although we do not have a view, the purple interiors likely feature more purple inserts and Salmon Nike branding. Rich purple midsoles and matching rugged outsoles complete this concept’s design.
