Another Regal AM90! -The Air Max 90 Tyrian Purple

Concepts of matte black sneakers have been flooding the internet in recent weeks, however, that’s led to another myriad of concepts with boldly colored bases and clean contrasting hues that really does speak out and even gives colorways by Nike a run for their money. In some cases, we believe that concept art is becoming gradually superior to actual Nike colorways so it’s about time the Swoosh starts taking notes, particularly from this new concept. Presenting, the Nike Air Max 90 Tyrian Purple, a new concept that’s much like the recent Dark Crimson but opts for royal purple color tones for a regal look.

Originally known as the Air Max III, these sneakers built on what the Air Max 1s accomplished but took it to the next level when it came to performance and design. Although meant as a running shoe at first, the Air Max 90 became a cultural icon as a fashion staple all over the western world due to its versatile design. Today, you’ll find many rocking a pair of 90s from the streets of New York to Berlin which is also a common place where concept art originates. After a few noteworthy concepts such as the Air Max 90 Neon Ink and the Midnight Arctic, the Air Max 90 Tyrian Purple is a solid contender for being one of the best out of all of them.

The upper is shrouded in a dark purple leather overlay that starts from the toes and runs along with the mudguards of the sneaker, undisturbed up until the heel tabs. Toe boxes yet again feature a mesh-like material that’s present on almost all other Air Max sneakers. Similar to the last concept we covered, this colorway also opts for clean white traditional laces along with matching throats that provide a stark contrast against the boldly colored underlays. Although there’s nothing else like it that Nike has released, the women’s Air Max 90 Pure Purple does sport relatively similar hues, albeit in a lighter-toned package with different materials and slightly deviating color blocking.

Moving onto the concept, tongues of the sneakers don a matching purple color tone with contrasting white “Nike” and “Air” branding. Interiors also indulge in the regal hues while side panels don cropped crisp white Swooshes. Underfoot, white midsoles with exposed Air Units and white outsoles finish off the design.
