Another One For The 97– The Air Max 97 Cyber Pink

The Air Max 97 is finally getting more love in recent months as the sneaker is seeing a slew of more actual colorways as well as fire new concept art! These sneakers are usually overshadowed by the Air Force 1 Low and the Air Max 90, however, in recent months there has been a resurgence in concept art for the 97 and we are all for it! This time, artists introduce a new yet familiar colorway with cyber pink hues mixed with white and black hits. Presenting, the Nike Air Max 97 Cyber Pink!

What do people usually see when they see the Air Max 97? Most would claim that they remind the design of Japan’s famous bullet trains which is believed to be the sneaker’s inspiration. However, they were actually inspired by mountain bikes from where some of the metallic hits come from. These sneakers became even more popular with musician, Lil Nas X as he released a few pairs with real Human Blood in a Satan-themed branding. The unofficial collaboration didn’t quite work out but it did give the Air Max 97 a much-needed popularity boost after hype seemingly dwindled in recent years. Now, we’re also getting more concept art as a result, such as this Air Max 97 Cyber Pink.

The uppers on the Air Max 97 feature a white, pink, and black color scheme. Clean white leather covers the side mudguards that extend all the way to the rears with black cutouts and small embroidered pink Swooshes. Right above, we see a Cyber Pink strip of leather followed by a black leather strip, followed by another Cyber Pink leather strip, and so on leading to the laces. The lacing system covers the black throats, matching the other pink hits and overlaps by a false lacing system that extends down from the tongues.

Black tongues feature white embossed Nike Air branding with tongue pulls that complement the rears. Black sock liners lead down to black interiors that likely end with black inserts, possibly with pink branding. Midsoles feature additional pink hits with silver exposed Air Units while white outsoles with pink hits finish off the design.
