A WMNS Size Potential Classic? – The LV x Air Jordan 1 Mid Bordeaux Fusion

The Air Jordan 1 Mid has mostly been a straight-up performance sneaker for basketball, however, certain collaborations have changed its image into being a fashion icon and a staple for many. The Dior x Air Jordan 1 collaboration showed that these kicks can be as luxurious and dressed up as any other luxury footwear. The Jordan 1 Dior collaboration has been reselling for thousands of dollars over retail and is still among the most valuable on the market. They have likely inspired concept artists to create more fictional collaborations like this. Presenting, the LV x Air Jordan 1 Mid Bordeaux Fusion!

When Mids had a reputation for being less opulent, their market value decreased, and the name “mid,” which denotes anything as being below average, didn’t help either. Collectors don’t want to be seen wearing a “mid” shoe, but many are unaware that the buzz around sneakers is actually fueled by much more analytical factors. Unfortunately, it appears that the passion for collecting sneakers today has less to do with nostalgia and more to do with money, resale value, and a brand’s effective marketing tactics. Despite a few exceptions, mids have a negative reputation among fans since they are less expensive. Unless it is exclusive, co-signed, and has a high resale price, people don’t care. Collaborations such as one with Louis Vuitton, however, will certainly make headlines.

Coming to the design of these opulent new concepts, the uppers feature a mix of Bordeaux and Fusion pink hues. The toes feature tumbled leather pink with brighter pink Louis Vuitton monograms scattered throughout. The toe boxes, on the other hand, are matte maroon with perforations that lead up to white throats that are wrapped up in matching white laces. The tongues are also Bordeaux with white contrasting backgrounds.

Bright pink sock liners possibly lead down to matching pink or Bordeaux interiors with contrasting branding. The collars of the shoe are also titular with barely visible Jordan Wings motifs embossed on top. Perhaps a bit of contrast there would have served this concept well in our opinion. The side panels feature leather dressed in a dark pink shade with matching LV monograms in a lighter pink tinge. The Side profiles are then overlain by bright pink leather Swooshes. Dark maroon midsoles and clean white outsoles finish off the design. For more concept art such as this, keep it here!
