The Air Max 90 returns for another concept art and this time, it’s coming in just in time for Winter when the Northern lights are its most vibrant and reflects a splendid combination of hues that you can see in Northern regions of the world. This time, it appears that concept artists have implemented similar hues to this new concept which features an indigo color matched with Aurora-like patterns as well. Presenting, the enchanting Air Max 90 Aurora. Although the upper could have been better, the timing sure is on point!
Concept art is famous as ever and although you may have seen exciting new designs and fictional collaborations on the Nike SB Dunks or on the Air Jordan 1 for example. However, it is good to know that iconic sneakers such as the Air Force 1 Low and the Air Max 90 are not left in the dust and are just as, if not more utilized by concept artists. The Air Max 90 has a myriad of different designs and colorways and although not all of them should have seen the light of day, some are enshrined within sneaker culture. The same goes for concept art as well. Whether this brand-new concept is a hit or miss, you decide.
Coming to the design, uppers are contrasted with a mix of leather and mesh in indigo, dark green, and grey hues with a multi-colored tinge. Dark purple leather covers the toes and extends onto the side panels while the mudguards are grey and feature a multi-colored hue near the rear, reminiscent of the aforementioned northern lights. Toe boxes are purple mesh and lead up to crisp white leather eye stays that get tucked underneath dark green or teal plastic eyelet panels. Throats also appear to be purple and are wrapped up by crisp white traditional laces.
Moving up, purple tongues are contrasted by clean white tags with teal “Nike Air” branding. Matching them is white sock liners and interiors that likely lead down to purple inserts with additional white branding. Although we do not have a direct view, the rears also seem to feature dark teal heel pieces with embossed branding while more embossed branding near the rear quarters, white midsoles with purple hits, and matching white and purple outsoles finish off the design.
