Over the years we have seen Nike brand reach out to offer kids and smaller size adults some love. There has been some general releases which adults would have loved to get their hands on, but unfortunately this were an exclusive treat for kids and how we like to call, ‘small feet gang’. With all that being said, we have another kids exclusive which is set to cause quite the stir amongst sneakerheads and in particular Air Max fans. Hence the name, the all-new Nike Air Max 90 ‘Super Max’ has been associated with some of Nike’s superhero themed sneakers, for example the highly sought-after Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Spiderman’.
As you would expect, the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Super Max’ consists of some typical superhero colors, sonic red, vivid blue and off-white. The upper of the shoes offers a nice blend between all three colours. We see base panels and inner ankle lining take on the sonic red hue, whilst vivid blue accents can be found on the toe-box meshing, traditional Nike side swoosh, and heel meshing which surrounds the back plate. The tongue, lower lace plate and Air Max logo’s are finished using an almost off-white/grey color, which brings the bright colors together perfectly. We also see an addition of black, exclusively for the rubber lace tabs, as well as burgundy, exclusively for the laces and tongue tab branding.
With so much going on with the upper, Sneakerz has done the right thing and kept the lower part of the sneaker very sleek and subtle. The white/grey color which we see on the upper has been featured again for both the midsole and outsole. Although we do see the addition of a sonic red panel which surrounds the Nike air unit within the midsole – a feature often replicated amongst Air Max 90’s and highly celebrated thanks to the notorious Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’.
In recent weeks we have been fortunate enough to receive a full range of Air Max 90 customs come out. We can’t help but feel that these will be highly sought-after by many and that the Air Max wave will be fully revitalised. Watch this space
