They say great minds think alike, well that statement couldn’t ring truer when it comes to our latest concept mock-up. The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Volt Blue’ was produced as a result of a brain burst from our in-house design team. Upon completion it was found that the concept sneaker is highly reminiscent of an old OG Nike colourway that was released over 10 years ago exclusively to one retailer – The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Anthracite’.

The New Nike Air Max 90 ‘Volt Blue’ arrives with a similar colourway to the OG ‘Anthracite’. Dark hues of grey make up the base of the sneaker whilst a volt turquoise blue hue is accented throughout. We begin with the upper, where the Nike Air Max 90 thrives for it’s modern-retro detailing, highly reminiscent of the 90’s era. Similar to most colourways of the silhouette, the ‘Volt Blue’ concept arrives with a combination of two premium materials, perforated mesh and nubuck leathers. The dark grey hue wraps around the whole sneaker with the toe box, lacing panels, heel and laces, all combining in to one. The volt blue accents against the dark grey base, compliment the design tremendously. Similar to the OG ‘Anthracite’ Air Max 90, the inner ankle lining, side swoosh and tongue detailing are showcased in ‘volt blue’.

As we move down to the lower shoe, the two-tone theme is continued. The midsole features the highly popular colour-blocking of some the AM90 favourites, such as the ‘Infrared’. The dark grey theme wraps around the whole midsole whilst the air bubble trip boasts the ‘volt blue’ hue. The outsole is completely grey to further compliment the colour blocking.

On hindsight, although the sneaker somewhat resembles the OG Nike Air Max 90 ‘Anthracite’, we believe that this new mock-up exceeds the real-life version.
