The Supreme effect is real. For those unaware, the Supreme effect is a statement which refers to how the brand Supreme, the biggest brand in streetwear, can influence the industry by creating collaborations. In short, whatever Supreme touches, instantly makes it a hot topic in the streetwear scene. Arguably, the same could be said for the Nike Air Max TN Plus. Although the Air Max TN Plus already has a vast fanbase, the release of a recent Supreme collaboration in late 2020 has skyrocketed the silhouette into stardom, with many Nike general releases selling out!
It’s only right then that we take a look at this new and exciting concept provided by Concept Kicks. The new Nike Air Max TN Plus ‘Volt Grape’ concept has seriously hit the nail on the head. The Air Max TN Plus silhouette is all about bright and vibrant colours, and this ‘Volt Grape’ edition seems to have found a match made in heaven with volt green, purple and bright pink. As mentioned, the colour palette of this sneaker is somewhat unusual yet somehow it really works! The upper consists of a purple perforated mesh base, purple laces and purple scuff guards around the heel and toe box. In true TN Plus tradition, the sneaker arrives with plastic caging, this time finished in bright pink which perfectly complements the purple base. Further accents on this sneaker have been finished using a volt green hue, this can be found on the lateral Nike side swoosh and lace ladder perimeter.
Surprisingly, the sneaker has fully transparent air bubbles within the midsole. Known for using coloured tints, this specific Air Max TN Plus shy’s away from normal procedures and uses a clear bubble aesthetic to compliment a smoked grey outsole.
As previously mentioned, 2021 really and truly could be the year of the Nike Air Max TN Plus. Custom mock-up’s like this, alongside any potential collaborations with Nike will be sure to elevate the silhouette into sneaker of the year discussions. Be sure to watch this space as Custom Kicks has much more sneaker heat up their sleeve!
