Last week we saw the emergence of the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Lagoon’, a shoe which we claimed could easily gain sneaker of the summer status. That was until we set our sights on the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Pink Lobster’- An all new custom mock up by none other than Sneakerz. Over the years we have seen numerous sneaker silhouettes take on the vibrant pink look, however many are often limited as grade school or women’s exclusives. Here we have the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Pink Lobster’ which if confirmed, would be set to release in full sizing range . Similar to the Nike x Off White Collab or Kanye’s work during the Nike x Yeezy collab, the sneaker offers a sense of individuality and dares all who wear them to put together unique and eccentric outfits. A notion we can fully endorse, after all, clothing and indeed sneakers are to be worn, styled and embraced. Let’s jump straight in!
The upper arrives predominantly in an eye-catching bright pink and anthracite/gun metal grey. The leather side panels, rear hell tab, lacing, toe-box panelling, ankle lining, side Air Max branding and Nike Air logo all showcase the vibrant pink hue. Whilst the Nike side swoosh, tongue, mesh toe box and mesh ankle padding all promote balance using the anthracite/gun metal grey hue. That being said, it’s easy to think that the shoe is simply a two-tone aesthetic, but upon closer examination you can see that the sneaker offers a third color to the palette. The traditional Air Max 90 rubber lace tabs are finished using a plum purple hue which compliments the pink perfectly!
As we progress on the lowers, we see that Sneakerz once again chooses to go for an all-one color scheme once again. The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Pink Lobster’ features an all-pink midsole and outsole, whilst the built in Air unit is once again fully smoked out in jet-black. A feature which always seems to look good, regardless of what colour palette it sits on.
