You’re probably aware of the magnitude of the Air Force 1 Low’s influence in modern streetwear culture and it’s partly because of the wide range of available colorways and materials. The recent collaboration between UNDEFEATED and Nike nodded at the versatility of the Air Force 1 as it’s sported a range of colors and various materials throughout its lifetime starting from 1984 to this day. Among those colorways, we’ve seen various feminine colorways that don pinkish hues but none have been done up like this latest concept. Presenting, the Nike Air Force 1 Low Atomic Pink.
There’s a reason why the Air Force 1 is so firmly embedded within pop culture today, it’s seen a fair share of screen time, particularly during the early 2000s. The sneakers also appeared on an episode of HBO’s Entourage where Turtle rushes to the store to grab a pair of brand new AF1s. These reasons constituted to the Air Force 1 becoming one of the best-selling sneakers in history and for Nike, brings in sales worth $800 Million. The total revenue throughout the AF1’s life span amounts to over $28 Billion! The silhouette is so adored that in 2003, American rapper, Nelly, had his music video banned by MTV as it was deemed too close to being advertising.
It’s therefore no wonder that so many concept artists have taken this silhouette as their primary canvas, creating alluring colorways such as this Air Force 1 Low Atomic Pink. Dressed in a predominantly Atomic Pink upper, these sneakers apply much of the same concept that the matte black colorways had before them. Flashy pink leather covers the toes, the perforated toe boxes, side panels, heels, and the overlays. The eye stays features matching pink leather along with pink throats that are enveloped in traditional matching laces and blend right in. The bottom laces don black lace ornaments that provide contrast and although it may not be clear, it likely features additional branding.
Moving up the sneakers, we find a pair of titular tongues with jet black contrasting tongue tags that feature barely visible “Nike” and “Air Force 1” branding. The collar linings and interiors also don jet black hues that complement the tongue tags and the black leather Swooshes on the sides of the shoes. The overall look of this concept is reminiscent of the Air Force 1 Low Experimental Racer Pink but without the black hits. Pink midsoles and outsoles finish off the design for this concept.
