An Appetizer For the Thunder Reds- Air Jordan 4 ‘Red Charcoal’

Jordan Brand’s 4th signature silhouette has been all the rage this year. From an iconic UNC makeover to the return of the “Oreo”, fans are being treated to various new and retro colorways! News of an upcoming “Thunder Red” AJ4 has everyone hyped while concept artists have also taken notice and just dropped their very own version of it. Presenting, the Air Jordan 4 Red Charcoal which takes inspiration from a couple of OG and an upcoming colorway!

We’ve been seeing various bold statements by concept artists, however, seldom have they taken inspiration from an upcoming hit that many are clearly excited about. It appears that the AJ4 is gradually rising in popularity as we witness its resale value rise relative to other silhouettes. This may have something to do with the various retro releases as well as returns of other popular colorways like the AJ4 “Lightning” which releases later this month on August 28th. Since hype is at an all-time high, you can also expect a barrage of new concepts coming your way but first, we take a closer look at the striking Air Jordan 4 Red Charcoal.

At first glance, resemblance to the Air Jordan 4 Bred (2019) Is uncanny but at closer inspection, these carry significant differences. Starting off with the scuff guards, a dark “Cement Grey” hue differentiates itself from the rest of the upper, we can’t say it’s the best design choice, but it is unique which is admirable. Toe boxes and mudguards don jet black leather while eye stays feature a darker shade of grey, contrasted by crisp white laces.

These laces envelop mesh netted throats with a red base which is complimented by similar paneling on the lateral sides of the shoe. Throats lead up to black leather tongues with titular red tongue tags and black Jump-Man branding. Red triangular side pieces add a stark contrast and are attached to metallic grey eye let panels that are also featured on various other Air Jordan 4s. Black interiors and lining blend right in while black and red midsoles with exposed Air Units is reminiscent of the Black Cement colorway. Finally, blazing red outsoles finish off the design. If you’re interest in a similar pair, wait for October 2nd and try your luck in copping the Jordan 4 red Thunder! Stick around for more concept art to come!
