Another Luxurious Concept- The Dior x Air Max 90 Stealth

Concept artists are seemingly catching on to a new trend where luxury fashion houses collaborate with hyped footwear and apparel companies to create overly expensive but legendary pieces of work. Prada did it, Louis Vuitton did it, and Dior has done it perhaps better than any other company as well. Although the vast majority of people cannot afford them, many do admire them and they also make sneaker news headlines every time. A release of a similar magnitude always lights up sneaker Twitter channels like Christmas trees and for good reason. Artists are now also riding this wave with new and attractive fictional collaborations. Presenting now, the Dior x Air Max 90 Stealth!

The Dior x Jordan 1 collaboration was huge and although they retailed for as high as $2,000, the Air Jordan 1 Low currently resells for an average price of $6,000 while the Dior Jordan 1 High resells for north of $8,000 per pair. However, this collaboration was not just limited to sneakers. There have been bags, wallets, and T-shirts as well. The messenger bags, for example, are worth around $1,500 while a simple T-shirt costs around $1,000+ on the secondary market. These releases are a spectacle nonetheless which is likely why concept artists are playing around with the idea more.

Coming to the design of this sneaker, unlike the actual collaborations with Jordan Brand, these opt for a stealthy black appearance with contrasting Dior monogram hits for an elegant contrast. Black leather covers the toes and the mudguards that run all the way back while featuring grey cutouts with the signature “Air Max” tags in a grey shade. The toe boxes are black mesh as usual and complement the matching mesh collars on this Air Max 90. Lower leather eye stays are also black and are slipped underneath the usual plastic eyelet panels. Black throats and laces blend right in while an interesting bit of contrast is provided by the sock liners which are covered in white and blue Dior monograms.

Black tongues are contrasted by Dior monogram tags and grey “Nike Air” branding. Interiors also seem to be matching the revered pattern, likely leading down to similar inserts with additional grey Nike branding. The heel tabs seem to feature black pieces, perhaps with more embossed branding while black midsoles and outsoles with more Dior monograms in a blue and white shade complete the design.
