The Air Max 90 is a sneaker that has seen a number of themes implemented on it by Nike. There are Halloween, Christmas, and other holiday-themed Air Max 90s that have been released as well as a few 4th of July or USA-themed colorways. However, they have not featured the iconic USA flag on their uppers and we believe that many people are probably yearning for a similar pair. Well, if Nike can’t do it, concept artists sure can! Presenting, the Nike Air Max 90 USA 2023 to help celebrate the new year.
The USA colorways on the Air Max 90 often do sell out and historically have only been released close to the 4th of July. These sneakers, however, have not previously carried much hype or resale as they do feature red, white, and blue color tones but never the flag itself which surely changes a few things as we believe a colorway such as this would be high in demand. Although the Air Max 90 is not as popular as it used to be, especially when it comes to the resale value, the collaborations and limited colorways that drop once in a while keep the hype alive and well, leading to concept art such as this Air Max 90 USA 2023.
Coming to the design, these seem to be constructed with a mix of mesh and leather as usual. The toes, as usual, come constructed in leather but this time, are crisp white. The mudguards, on the other hand, are a dark navy hue that extends all the way to the rears with the usual cutout, this time in white with Navy “Air Max” branding. The toe boxes are also mesh and this time, come in a light grey shade that complements the similarly made collars of the shoe.
The lower eye stays are navy and get tucked underneath plastic navy eyelet panels. The throats on this shoe are white and wrapped up in navy traditional laces. So far, the color theme has been red, white, and blue but the real highlight starts with the tongues which feature an American flag print with grey Nike branding. Sock liners and interiors are also clean white while the rears seem to feature navy heel pieces, likely with additional embossed branding. The Swooshes also feature the USA flag print while white midsoles and another USA-printed block around the Air Unit add another layer of detail. Finally, navy outsoles finish off the design.
