Introducing the all-new Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid ‘Blue Typhoon’

Over the past decade, we have seen one sneaker dominate the streetwear and sneaker world like no other. The Nike Air Jordan 1, a shoe so popular and sought after, thanks to its unique versatility, sleek design and heritage and comfort. Recently Nike and Jordan brand have been working tirelessly to keep up with the demand of the Nike Air Jordan 1, with new vibrant and unique colorways dropping every month. That being said, not all fans feel satisfied with the general releases from Nike, so much so that many people turn to artists and aftermarket designers to rendition their own colorways. Here we have a custom mock-up that does just that, offers a never-seen-before aesthetic on the Nike Air Jordan 1. Introducing the all-new Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid ‘Blue Typhoon’. Let’s take a closer look.

Jumping straight in, we will address the elephant in the room. Yes, the Nike Air Jordan 1 ‘Blue Typoon’ is a mid-cut version of the silhouette, but before you write it off, let us tell you how the mid-cut is due to make a streetwear resurgence. For quite some time the mid-cut Air Jordan 1 was always looked down on and overshadowed by it’s high-cut and sometimes low-cut counterparts… until now. Recently we have seen many mid-cut Nike Air Jordan 1’s begin to gain some heavy traction and also surge in the sneaker resell market. People are now caching on to the fact that mid-cut 1’s are extremely stylish and offer an aesthetic which the high-cut version of the silhouette just cannot pull off.

The Nike Air Jordan 1 ‘Blue Typhoon’ arrives with an all-over blue colorway. The upper showcases a tri-tone palette with dark royal blue taking over the leather side panels, toe-box surrounding and Nike side swoosh. The lighter sky blue accents can be found on the lacing ladder, under panels, tongue branding and leather toe box. Following suit, the lowers also feature a blend of blue tones, with the midsole flexing a light blue and the outsole finished in dark royal blue.

The ‘Blue Typhoon’ is one sneaker we expect to be replicated and remastered amongst designers and sneaker artists alike. Only time will tell if Nike brand themselves choose to take up this exciting mock-up and turn it into an official release.
