The All-New Nike Air Max 90 Cotton Candy

In recent memory, concept artists have been gracing us with bold new concepts. Some that either has stealthy color tones or those that go all out, adopting a myriad of colors. This latest Air Max 90 concept takes on the latter approach with an explosion of colors. Presenting, the Nike Air Max 90 Cotton Candy!

The Air Max 1 and 90 alike have long been suitable canvases for artistic masterpieces. Much like that Air Force 1 Lows, they allow for ample experimentation and color combinations. However, that’s not the only reason why this silhouette is such as concept artist magnet.

The Air Max 90 released in 1990 by Tinker Hatfield. A revolutionary new sneaker that built off the momentum of the OG Air Max 1. While the AM1 was inspired by the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the 90 was inspired by an Italian sports car.

Its revolutionary design made it a worldwide hit. Allowing Nike to gain a firm footing outside the U.S, particularly in the European markets. Inspiring many artists around the world to have their own take on this silhouette in the form of concept art.

The Air Max 90 Cotton Candy features a profusion of colors.

“Pink Blast” leather predominatly covers the uppers. Appearing on the mudguards, side panels, and the scuff guards. Meanwhile, a “Lethal Pink” shade embellishes the seemingly mesh toe boxes and collars.

Above the toe boxes, the purple lower eye stays lead up to Pink Blast throats enveloped in traditional crisp white laces. These laces go through purple plastic eyelet panels while sitting between pink tongues with “Ghost Green” tongue tags.

Detailed with white ‘Nike Air” branding are the tongues for a softer look.

Shrouded in black are the interiors while lateral sides feature cropped Army Green Swooshes. Moreover, the mudguards also include an embossed white “Air Max” tag for additional contrast.

Plain white midsoles clean up the look, only to be separated by an exposed Air Unit that’s surrounding by a “Ghost Green” block. A suitable addition to matching the tongue tags.

Rugged white outsoles finally complete the design for this concept.

At first glance, this concept is eerily reminiscent of the Air Max 90 Watermelon (2020). I suggest checking them out if you’re digging the Air Max 90 Cotton Candy concept.
