Truly Iconic – The Air Jordan 1 Mid Batman

The Air Jordan 1 is perhaps the most easily recognizable sneaker alongside the Air Force 1 and throughout history, has maintained its spot as one of the most important sneakers to ever see the light of day. What’s even better than its history is the paneling on the shoe that makes for a great canvas for concept artists and time after time, they continue to bring us fire new concepts. The one colorway Jordan Brand has been missing from their portfolio is a homage to the World’s Greatest Detective but concept artists continue to put the Jump-Man to shame. Presenting, the Air Jordan 1 Mid Batman!

It is a shame that Jordan Brand has never really indulged in the superhero world as much as it should have. There have been a couple of past releases that are interesting such as the Jordan 2012 Light Batman but they did not resell for a lot as the silhouette had low demand. Recently, The Air Jordan 1 did have a special-edition sneaker to celebrate the PlayStation Spiderman game and even a newer one releasing in 2023 but those releases are few and far in between. We believe fans would like colorways from Jordan Brand such as this concept but until then, feast your eyes!

The overall design of this colorway is pretty simple as it only features a black background with contrasting yellow hits. Thankfully, less is more and that could not have been truer in this case. What seems to be tumbled leather covers the toes, the eye stays and the heel overlays. Smooth matte black leather covers the perforated toe boxes while transitioning up into smooth nylon tongues. These tongues are wrapped up in traditional bright yellow laces, the first nod at Batman and his logo.

Moving up, you see what appears to be nylon tongues with matching dark tags and branding that pretty much blends right in. Tongue and sock liners are also black and devoid of any contrast which blends right in. Coming to the sides, the design appears to be very plain apart from the large contrasting yellow Swooshes on the sides that really brings the design together. Black midsoles and bright yellow outsoles finish off the design. If interested in a similar pair, check out the Air Jordan 1 Mid Speed Yellow on the secondary market.
