The AJIV, much like the Air Max 90 is a popular option for concept artists to work their magic on. With so many colorways already out in the market, it’s often difficult to create an entirely new colorway. However, a few tweaks to real colorways can work just as well, such as with this Air Jordan 4. Presenting, the Air Jordan 4 Bordeaux.
Not many sneakers can emulate the hype of Tinker Hatfield’s 4th signature sneaker. Over time, after being worn by Michael Jordan during some very important games. The Air Jordan 4 became a cultural icon.
These kicks feature enhanced flexibility, something that greatly improved the Chicago Bulls Stars’ movement. While the exposed mesh provided much-needed breathability. The special part about them, however, was that the AJIV was Jordan Brand’s first global release.
After a memorable appearance on the big screen, the AJIV became a household name. Then, later on, they would become many concept artist’s favorite sneakers to play with.
The Jordan 4s feature customizable lacing options as well. A small quirk that many grew to appreciate over time. And we know more than most that customizability is always welcome.
Air Jordan 4 Bordeaux | A Closer Look
Coming to the Air Jordan 4 Bordeaux, these sneakers are eerily reminiscent of the PSG Air Jordan 4. A sneaker that’s a collaboration with Parisian Football Club, Paris Saint Germain.
This Air Jordan 4 seemingly takes inspiration from that release with similar Bordeaux overlays. Appearing on the heel tabs and the lateral triangular pieces. In contrast to appearing on the PSG AJIV’s eyelet panels and midsoles.
White leather covers the rest of the sneaker with tumbled leather tongues, grey trims, and Bordeaux Jump-Man branding. Throats and side panels feature white mesh with further Bordeaux hues that permeate through.
Traditional white laces are boxed in between metallic grey eyelet panels. Meanwhile, the mudguards feature plain white leather, contrasted by grey leather scuff-guards. On the PSG AJIV, these scuff guards are a lighter silver.
Midsoles feature plain white shades with maroon/purple pieces and an exposed Air Unit. Underfoot, black outsoles finish off the design.
