It would take some guts to pull off wearing sneakers this loud, which is perhaps why Nike keeps their distance from implementing such color schemes. Thankfully, concept artists can experiment all they want with no repercussions thus leading to a slew of colorways that sometimes work out, and other times do not. This is ideal for fans that want to see something new each time which is why experimentation and customization have built such a solid place for themselves within sneaker culture. This time, we present the Nike Air Max 90 Orange Flash. There is one colorway that’s reminiscent of this but for the most part, it’s completely original!
Air Max 1 and Air Max 90 started a revolution in sneaker culture and changed the way running shoes were made forever. To commemorate this special design, Nike celebrated the birth of the Air Max and its innovation with the Air Max Day which started in 2014 and has been a recurring celebration ever since. With this celebration, Nike also brings in a slew of new colorways as well as retros for fans that missed out the first time and can’t afford to pay resale prices. This performance-turned-lifestyle sneaker is still going strong, as are the concepts that they inspire such as this Air Max 90 Orange Flash.
Uppers of this shoe features an almost entirely ‘Orange Flash’ hue with a few black hits. Toes feature orange leather, matching the orange mudguards that extend all the way to the rears. Even the Air Max tags and their backgrounds are orange and blend in nicely. What appears to be orange mesh shows up on the toe boxes as well as the collars of the shoe. Sitting right above are leather lower eye stays with plastic orange side eye stay panels that are passed through by traditional orange laces, wrapping the matching orange throats.
These throats lead up to matching orange tongues with orange tags, detailed by “Nike Air” branding. Sock liners and interiors are also orange and although we don’t have a view of the inserts, you can bet that there will likely be more orange, possibly with black “Nike” branding. Similarly, heel tabs aren’t visible either but we can just make out orange heel tabs that possibly also feature black embossed branding. Orange midsoles with visible orange Air Units along with complementing outsoles finish off the design.
