Louis On The Plus!- The LV x Air Max Plus Laser Blue

2023 is starting off as a year full of concept art on fictional collaborations and exciting sneaker releases. We have already seen a number of fictional art collaborations on the Air Jordan 4 and a few other Air Max models but the Air Max Plus has not seen a collaboration when it comes to concept art or ever when it comes to real life. At least no collaborations such as the Dior x Air Jordan or any of that magnitude. Perhaps the most notable collaborations are the Supreme x Air Max Plus from 2020 that released in a black and a white variant. Now, we present the LV x Air Max Plus Laser Blue concept art!

The Air Max Plus was a wonder of footwear design in the late ’90s since it featured a number of technology advancements at the time in addition to being admired for its aesthetically distinctive design characteristics. The Plus was the first Nike shoe with Tuned Air, which is very noteworthy. It was a significant development for Nike, which had previously concentrated on maximizing the size of the Air unit. Instead of using brute force, a more sensitive method was used to disperse the air such that it would be effective and stable for the wearer. They were able to lessen pressure in the heel while enhancing cushioning thanks to the Tuned Air unit’s inclusion of what Nike coined hemispheres—solid half-spheres put into the sole and Air unit. It’s not a wonder that we still see concept art such as this on this iconic silhouette.

Coming to the design of this subtle yet alluring colorway, uppers feature a three-tone blue upper with 3 different shades of blue including teal hits. The toes start off with a matte blue piece that extends towards the side panels and the rears, getting progressively darker after the toes end. LV’s influence can be seen all over the upper with light grey/blue LV monograms scattered throughout in what appears to be a stitched fashion.

The throats also carry the same shade of blue while wrapped up in matching dark blue laces that blend right in. A bright strip of neon teal borders the throats in an eye stay-like fashion and provides a contrast to the otherwise monochrome design. A lighter blue hue covers the sock liners and likely also the interiors and inserts with additional branding. Small teal side Swooshes, blue midsoles with Teal Air Units, and teal outsoles finish off the design. For similar content and more, stay tuned!
